Dr. Holder’s workshops integrate evidence-based research and interactive exercises that have helped me to identify my leadership personality style and develop strategies to enhance my ability to lead and communicate with authenticity. Because of her experience and skill as a psychologist, individual coaching sessions are empowering, allowing me to take bold steps forward in my career. Working with her has been both a personally and professionally transformative experience.

As part of The Duke-Johnson & Johnson Nurse Leadership Fellowship Program, I was provided with leadership coaching sessions with Dr. Judith Holder. She was very astute at identifying and helping me to understand who I am as a leader. Judith taught me that I can only change how I react to the behavior of others, not change their behavior. Through asking thought provoking questions and role playing, I was challenged to be more comfortable when confronted with difficult workplace situations. I greatly value the confidence that I have built through my coaching sessions. Dr. Holder is an awesome, inspiring leadership coach and I highly recommend her to anyone seeking to improve their leadership skills.”

Dr. Holder’s workshops have been insightful and a validation of what I’ve learned throughout my education and career. I appreciate the opportunities to reflect on past experiences and explore the “what if’s”. What I have found most helpful during her workshop sessions is that she provides the opportunity for you to apply the learnings through guided activities; which then “click” and you realize the full value of the message.

I have had the privilege of participating in executive coaching since Spring 2017. Executive coaching has absolutely contributed to my professional growth and I routinely apply learned strategies in clinical and academic settings. Just in the past year, I’ve drafted several business proposals and developed/implemented several projects that have served to improve workplace culture, enhance clinical acumen, promote diversity/inclusivity and improve patient outcomes. Dr. Holder has helped me to accept that I am a leader; sharpen my leadership skills and realize that I am only limited by what I allow to hold me back!!! Forever grateful.

I initially approached executive coaching with some skepticism. I was worried it would take up a lot of time with minimal value. I couldn’t have been more wrong! Dr. Judith Holder helped me navigate some of the most stressful career transitions I have faced thus far. Dr. Holder is compassionate, insightful and has a deep understanding of the unique stresses within the academic medical environment. She also has a broad array of tools that helped me mitigate stress, communicate more effectively while recognizing and leveraging my innate strengths. I have no doubt that I am better equipped to handle future challenges that will undoubtedly come my way. I highly recommend executive coaching with Dr. Holder!

The transition from being a trainee (for nearly all of my life) to my first job as an attending was difficult at times, and I occasionally found myself struggling in situations that seemed to be straightforward to those around me. With insight and guidance from Dr. Holder, I was able to take deep dives into these situations, explore possibilities, and devise action plans that would optimize the outcomes that I was trying to achieve. She would listen to my stories, ask questions, encourage me to ask questions, give feedback, and patiently allow me to discover my own path. Taking advantage of this opportunity for self-improvement has been invaluable, and the knowledge gained will undoubtedly serve as a foundation for my career moving forward!

I highly recommend executive leadership coaching with Dr. Holder. She helped me better understand myself using tools for self-reflection and engaging in pointed, thought-provoking discussion so that I can reach my highest potential as a professional. While she was instrumental in helping me develop better leadership skills for work, especially in the area of communication, she also validated and stressed the importance of personal physical and emotional wellness and helped me develop realistic goals for both. Thanks to my work with Dr. Holder I am more effective and happier both at work and at home. I was honestly sad when our coaching time was over!
